All football training sessions and home games are played locally at Walter St Reserve, Ascot Vale and Merv Hughes Oval, Edgewater.

In 2026 we will have multiple teams in every group from Under 8s, Under 10s, Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16s for Boys/Mixed teams.

We’re also thrilled to announce the launch of our inaugural Under 18.5 team, competing in the EDFL Senior competition — a major milestone for the Panthers.

In each age group we will have an elite top division team for kids with advanced skills, and then lower division teams which are perfect for new players or those still refining their talents.

Training is typically held on weeknights, with specific nights depending on the age group:

Younger groups (U8–U12): 5:30 – 6:30 pm

Older groups (U14–U16): 6:30 – 7:30 pm

We run a preseason program from November to December, before regular training resumes in February once school begins.

Games are played on Sunday mornings, with start times between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm, depending on the age group.

The season runs from April to July, including 14 home-and-away games, followed by finals for teams that qualify. Fixtures and final dates are released in March, once all teams are registered with the league.

All our experienced coaches are AFL Level 1 accredited, hold a Working With Children Check (WWCC), and have a background in playing football. Each team typically has two to three coaches, ensuring every player receives the support and attention they need.

Our coaches are further supported by professional paid skills coaches. In 2026, the club will again engage specialist coaches in kicking, ruck and clearance, and tackling — ensuring players develop the correct techniques and learn to play safely and confidently.

Our coaching team is led by Nic Tenabel, who began her coaching journey with the Panthers and has since built an impressive résumé across junior, VFLW, and NAB League programs, including her current role with the Calder Cannons.

The cost of professional coaching is included in the player membership fees.
